Explain what Sepsis is and how serious a condition is it.?

Sepsis is the presence of bacteria circulating in the blood stream,causing a severe infection and a life threatening condition called "toxic" shock syndrome or hypovolemic shock causing a critical reduction in tissue perfusion,acute failure of multiple organ systems,lungs liver kidneys heart and circulatory etc. Vigorous resuscitation is needed with life support, IV fluids,meds,antibiotics,and intensive medical care.Common causes are from gram negitive organisms like staph and meningococci. Take care. SW FNP

Sepsis is an infection that results in possible blood contamination. Sepsis indicates an infection is present and spreading. It is very serious and can result in loss of limbs, death or paralysis.

SEPSIS IS INVASION OF THE BODY BY DISEASE CAUSING BACTERIA.IT MAY CAUSE BREAKDOWN OF TISSUES INNVOLVED.WHEN IT PROGRESSES IT MAY CAUSE FORMATION OF PUS WHIS IS NOTHING BUT DEAD WHITE CELLS IN OUR BLOOD,WHO FOUGHT THE BACTERIA.USUALLY,NOT VERY SERIOUS,BUT WHEN SEPSIS SPREADS TO BLOOD OR OTHER PARTS OR ORGAN MAY EVEN CAUSE DEATH,ANTIBIOTICS ARE USED TO CONTROL IT.INFECTED SKIN WOUND IS ACOMMON EXAMPLE.

Sepsis is when an infection gets into the blood stream, usually from not getting treated soon enough. It is dangerous since your blood is septic.

sepsis is a blood infection i had one in march very life threatning if not treated aggressively i had high fever and bad shakes was in shock if not treated you can have organ failure

My dog became septic and like a week later she died. Sepsis is pretty serious.
