What is gram negative rod sepsis&what causes it? It is systemic infection that is caused by a gram negative rod (group of bacteria that usually reside in the stomach or urinary tract). Sometimes these organisms get in the blood, start to multiply and invade the body, making the person very very sick. It is an intestinal bacteria. I developed it in my hand after carpal tunnel surgery, which i still to this day think it came form the hospital and i had staff on top of it. Very bad infection. I had to have breding done. |
