Does anyone know if Sepsis is contagious?

Does anyone know if Sepsis is contagious?

no, it is not.

Sepsis is not contagious. It is life-threatening, though. The person who has it is usually in the hospital ICU and they are on respirators and antibiotics. You don't just have sepsis like a cold or the flu. Sepsis (also called "Systemic Inflammatory Response syndrome") are blood clots brought on by a severe bacterial infection. It's how a person's body responds to that particular infection. Just because you get a bacterial infection doesn't mean you will get sepsis.

Sepsis is generalized infection. Yes, it is contagious but the degree depends upon the bacteria involved.

It depends what caused the sepsis. For instance, strep throat, infected chicken pox. Also wounds, urine & things like that infected with mrsa that have gone septic. Yes the original infection is still contagious. However, something like a septic joint most likely no.

Yes, I know and no, it is not. Run a search for it and learn more.
