What caused Intra Abdominal Sepsis?

After a Hemi Colectomy I became very ill, to the stage where an emergency Laparotomy was required. During this procedure 3 litres of free pus was drained from my abdominal cavity. Several medicos blame an Anastomotic leak, but the Surgeon denies this. What else could have caused this problem if not a faulty Anastomosis?

If not from faulty anastamosis then it must have been from the original surgery being contaminated.

It sounds like an anastomotic leak, your surgeon for some reason does not want to admit it. No matter how great a surgeon you are these things happen and cannot be prevented.
