Blood infection?

has anyone had a blood infection or sepsis before? i get little bruises on my arm for no reason, they just appear every once in a while, i get headaches often and i get nosebleeds but very few like once a couple of months. are these signs of a blood infection or sepsis or a blood thinner? im a scardy cat and dont want to go to the doctors. should i be concerned? the bruises are little and only on my arm and i dont get them like all the time but it is often. if anyone has had this, can you let me know what to do and what symptons you had

Are you on a blood thinner, taking too many Aspirin or advil--both those drugs do affect platelets and act similar to coumadin with bruising & nose bleeds. You might want to supplement with some vitamin K (which is a component of the clotting mechanism) and a good multivitamin. Other meds effect the clotting/platelet function so you might want to discuss these with your doc.
The only time bruises (petechiae & eccymosis) are a manifestation of sepsis--you do not have long to live, so I highly doubt you have this! (and they are all over)

I would think it is likely related to the thinness of your blood.

It is not likely a sign of sepsis.

I would make an appointment with your doctor to rule out something more serious but they will likely just check your bleeding times (ptt, inr, pt).

Hope this helps,

C

maybe your bruising yourself w/out realizing it?
