WHAT IS THE WONDER DRUG GIVEN IN HOSPIALS BY I.V. for fungus infections?

MY MOM HAS WOKEN UP and feeling better in the hospital SHE HAD SEPSIS

the IV bag that is hangind says fungi something on it

Possibly amphoteracin.

Good pick for best answer, you will make a real good lpn. Report It

Flucanazole??

Edit. for people saying Amphotericin B it isn't used for most fungal infections not in the hospital setting at least. Flucanazole or Diflucan is the most common and the most cost effective. No matter what you read on a website.

Flagyl

Fungal Infection, Probably you Are Referring to Amphotericin B.

possibly levofloxine

The latest one is Voriconazole, but more often than not treatment is started with the more commonly used (and cheaper) older drugs such as fluconazole or amphotericin B

Amphotericin-B- for most fungal infections.
Caspofungin- for aspergillosis.
Fluconazole- Mucosal and systemic candidiasis, cryptococcal meningitis.
Itraconazole- Dermatomycosis, multiple systemic mycoses.
Voriconazole- Invasive aspergillosis.
Please see the web page for more details on Antifungal drugs.
