Can a stroke cause senility/?

my best friend's granny had a stroke almost 3 years ago. ive been around through out the whole recovery, then all of a sudden she got worse. i have witnessed everything from not making to to the john in time and the muscle spazzams. and other things assoaited with a stroke. but ive been reading up on it. and from what ive read, dymenshia and senility and not apart of it. it krazy. she stays woke all nite and sleeps in the day. i live with them so i have to deal with it (d*&%@$) ive been to the doctor with her and her family and she seems to just get worse. the thing that gets me is that she sits and talks about things that happened years ago. i need some help or they are gonna have to put me in a home. she sits and crys for no reason(dr told me that happens to people who have had strokes) this is krazy. please if you have answers to this proublem please help and please no stuiped answers. i love this woman like my granny and this is getting really scary. some one please help me.

if a blood clot caused the stroke and if this clot has caused decreased blood to flow to part of the brain that is specifically in charge with memory then a stroke could definitely cause senility.

Brain injuries still remain unknown. God bless.

sounds like to me granny has had a massive stroke, when a per son has a stroke like granny it hit's the central nervous system that controls body functions and memory she is incapable of remembering the present as you know it she will remember things in snatches past or present as for sleep pattern this got messed up from the stroke this is common

thats is normal when my stepdad had a stroke he thought he was in 1965 and stayed that way for a while.another friend of mine has no felling in the right side of his body because of the stroke . it would be best for everyone to agree that its time to put her in a home to help her.

I am not a medical professional or even a medical student, but from what I know and understand about strokes - being that they are a blood clot that blocks the flow of blood to the brain, I would guess that senility can be one of the many possible results.

Most stroke victims report having problems with memory and motor function, some more than others, but knowing that the brain is a very complex and fragile organ, it is easy to imagine that the stop of blood flow to one particular area could cause senility or even dementia.

Only a medical specialist could tell you for sure though, and this only after several tests.

It depends on the degree of the damage done during the time of the stroke and therefore u cannot have a universal answer to that. u should also keep in mind her age because as we grow old the body degenerates and if its at the same time with anything like a brain damage then the process can be more complicated.
I really dont have any right answer but try researching about that too. Maybe u could also try to rehabilitate her and teach her the basics of life again(Activities of Daily Living....)

All the best.

Plesase for the sake of etiquecy dont say no stupid.... Its really aggrssive. And unneccessary. They right what u dont want, just ignore it
