Depression, senility, or both? |
Lately my grandmother has been acting very strange. She seems extremely scatterbrained and can't even make tea without messing it up somehow (ie. yesterday she was so out of it she put half a cup of sugar in her tea and forgot to put the tea bags in) She says she has been very depressed lately and doesn't even want to get out of bed most of the time. Do you think the depression could be causing the wierdness or that she is getting some kind of senility? I'm very worried. my grandmother is about 75 and in pretty good health. i'm not looking for a diagnoses, just though maybe someone had some experiences with these symptoms. She needs to be evaluated by a Doctor to rule out physical problems then go from there. You can't get a diagnosis on yahoo answers. You have asked this question before. You can worry or you can encourage her to see a professional. First off, well done for caring so much about your grandmother. Whether one is young, mid age or old, we will encounter depression for in many ways. But what is critical is the degree of the depression and this can be visible as what you seen your grandmother at that moment. |
