Semen medical question?

Sorry for asking this corky question, but hey, where else can one ask these questions? I have heard that the taste of semen could be salty or sweet. Why is that? What is that indicative of, that is if semen is salty or sweet?

its not all based on diet, but diet has ALOT to do with it...sweet fruits, (Strawberry, pineapple) will definetly make it sweeter, it tends to be less sweet if you eat chips, fried foods...

i am not really sure, but i heard somewhere if a man eats a lot of pineapple it could change the taste of the semen to something sweeter.

Semen is a bodily fluid. Our body processes what goes into it through secretion into our bodily fluids, which then go out of our body. Semen is no different. Semen also uses a lot of glucose to give the sperm cells energy to propel their way up through the vagina and uterus during intercourse so that the egg can be fertilized resulting in a child's conception. On the salty side, the semen contains alkaloids which neutralize the acidic environment of the vagina, allowing the sperm cells to be protected from destruction, once again to produce egg fertilization and result in a conception. That is what can give it a salty taste. I do hear that what you eat has a profound effect on your semen's taste, and that if you want it to be sweet that citrus fruits and sugars are good things to take in a lot of prior to a planned episode of oral sex.

Generally salty. The taste is greatly affected by your diet. Sweet? I've never heard that. Also, it seems that women are "wired" to dislike the taste no matter what, but men aren't.
