Are selenium (Se) and Zinc (Zn) supplements good or bad for your prostate? |
A very recent newspaper report indicated that a medical journal has reported that people who take Se and Zn supplements are doubling their chances or likelihood of getting the worst form of prostate cancer. My impression has always been that Se and Zn supplements would help to prevent prostate cancer. What do people think? I read a similar report on MSNBC.I think it concerns itself with people who take more than the recommended dosage. There are some people who think that if a little is good then a lot must be better, hope this helps. Selenium is a toxic chemical if taken in the wrong dosage. In fact it is used in shampoo's for dandruff. You better be careful. Consult your doctor about it before taking any supplements. |
