Does anyone know if taking the supplement, selenium will cause you to gain weight?


I have gained a few pounds since i started taking it and i dont know if this would be typical or not.

Selenium is an essential dietary trace mineral and is a pro oxidant that is an essential part of glutathione (Glutathione is the predominant non-protein thiol and is a powerful antioxidant). It is essential because is serves to activate this antioxidant to provide natural energy to the body.

i suggest you take this product in the morning or if you are a more serious lifter befor gym on an empty stomach.

if your take any protine powders it will have draw in more protien because if im not mistake it is cretien based thats why you are gaining more weight (Muscle)

it appears that it has some connection with hypothyroidism which IS a disease that causes weight gain. however you'd have to be defficient of selenium to experience this...which you aren't now that your taking a supplement for it. RDA recommends 55micrograms a day and anything around or above 400 micrograms can cause serious illness such as cirrosis and pulmonary adema.
