Which is the most effective anti-dandruff substance? |
pyrithione zinc, selenium sulfide, coal tar, or salicylic acid? Pirithione zinc. Your dandruff could be caused by a fairly common air-borne fungus. Depending on where you live, you may be able to get an anti-fungal shampoo over-the-counter from your druggist/pharmacist. They can all work, I've found coal tar best. Actually, you don't have to go out spend tons of money on these stinky preparations. You probably already have what you need in the kitchen. When pts come in to be seen at the drs office i work at, and they add the "oh why I'm here" what can I do for my dandruff question, the dr tells them that after they have washed their hair, to massage vinegar into scalp, wait a couple of minutes and rinse it out. The pH of the vinegar restores the balance to the scalp. I would try it first for a couple of weeks, it's cheap and natural. Try wash and go shampoo and conditioner together. selson blue. its cheap and it works! |
