Going Healthy: I need a great regime/suggestions..about to go to the grocery!?

I'm turning over a new leaf and going healthy! I wouldn't mind losing weight but that is not my only reason for doing so. I realize that this is a committment long term and involves changing my lifestyle. I'm 20, fairly slim, I weigh 119 pounds, 5'3 and pretty muscular. I would really like to work on getting a solid stomach. All of my friends say the 6 meals a day is the way to go but what do I eat when and what time and how large snacks/what are good snacks? I exercise some but not a ton. Also what supplements would be helpful, a multi what about selenium for belly fat? basically i would really appreciate any healthy suggestions especially what i should be buying at the grocery and my eating schedule. thanks!!

Hey thats good that you are trying to be healthy!! so this is a GREAT rule to go by i think. when i go to the grocery store i stay on the outside aisles because if you notice all teh inside aisles have nothing but crap and processed food so i stick to the veggies, meat and complex carbs (which are in the outer aisles) but anyways i suggest 5 to 6 times a day of eating. i dont eat very much im 5'5 and 130 pounds and i dont have a huge appetite but this is my usual food schedule. its good to keep your metabolism burning consistenyl through the day. in teh morning i have either oatmeal with honey and cinnamon (NO sugar) or 2 egg whites with whole wheat toast (mrs. dash is a spice that is WONDERFUL) i out it on EVERYTHING and it has no salt which is good to stay low on sodium(today people have wasy way to much) or a whey protein shake with blueberries and flaxseed and flax oil. (u need good fats and oils so i take omega 3 emulsified fish oil, it isnt wonderful but sooo good for your body) then for a snack about 2 to 3 hours later some type of fruit then lunch i have a HUGE spinach salad with tons of other veggies( bell pepper, onions, tomatoes, snap peas, etc etc) with some type of protein. then about 3 hours later i have a handful of blueberries and soem type of nut (i prefer almonds or walnuts) then before i go to the gym i eat a complex carb (i like kashi's TLC bars they are really really good) then i get home and eat some other type of protein and liek a sweet potato or something. then about an hour later a whey and casein protein shake before bed!! it sounds kinda difficult but sooo worth it. if you have any other questions because i coudl go on and on and on jsut email me and ill answer anything ya need to know!! my email is lc_stills@yahoo.com
