What foods should I avoid with Hypothyroidism?

I'm looking for advice from anyone that actually has Hypothryoidism...

I've been seeing a lot of websites telling me to avoid Soy, brussel sprouts, peaches, strawberries and all kinds of other fruits and vegetables, because they can disrupt the absorption of the thyroid medications....

I just want to know if anyone else with hypothryoidism can give me some insight as to what foods to avoid and what foods are beneficial...

Also supplements that have worked for people with hypothryoidism such as Zinc, Selenium, Biotin, Kelp, and any others....Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

Hey Luftherz,i guess i am a bad patient and a bad nurse.I have hypothyroidism and i do not watch what i eat as far as the vitamins, minerals and such.I do know that the weight i gained is not going to come off until i can get to exercise,i broke my back in 2006 and they have not done anything to alleviate my pain so i can exercise, you would think the meds would do the job.Anyway i guess you taught me something,i need to look into this more.I do take zinc, and selenium but i really am giving up on the "natural" meds, for myself,to all that they work for i am very glad they work. Thanks for helping me with your question.
By the way just cuz a person is a professional,at whatever, does not mean that they know everything about every subject in their profession.I have never worked in a clinical setting where i would have to monitor a person on thyroid meds and obviously i have not done it for myself.
