My skin is really itchy!!!!!!!YIKES?

i had tinea versicolor and i used a selenium sulfate lotion to kill it which dryed out my skin. Now i have "winter skin" and i'm going nuts scratching...well trying not to anyways. if i moisturize it comes back and if i don't i wont have skin to call my own.

Suggestions?
Pleeease =)

Dump a cup full of white vinegar into the bath and fill it with warm water and soak in it for 20 minutes ..... whatever was in the lotion you used on your skin you must have had an allergic reaction to and it has stripped your skin of its natural PH balance ...... the white vinegar will restore the natural PH balance of your skin and eliminate the dreadfull itchiness.

First I would take some Benadryl, probably about 25 mg., to help with the itching. It is an antihistamine, and it will make you drowsy, so make sure the pharmacist checks to see if it is safe for you to take. I am no expert, but just an idea, next time can you mix the selenium sulfate lotion with a sort of clear plain lotion to "water" it down some and make it milder, because it sounds like it may have been a bit too strong. And then see a dermatologist. Also, there are lotions in the drugs stores for sensitive skin that do not contain perfumes and things that will irritate your skin when it is dry. The pharmacist should be able to help you. Let him/her know what happened with the selenium sulfate lotion, tho. I hope you get some relief. Sometimes oatmeal in the bath can help. Or olive oil. Don't give up, there is an answer out there. Even make sure you get lots of B vitamines, and eat lots of foods with Omega 3, and cut back on sugar and pop.
