Can I mix vitamins?

Like the wuss I am, I hate swallowing tablets or capsules - so I get tablets and crush them. I take, in addition to my multi-vitamin, other stuff like ginseng, calcium and cod liver oil, and selenium tablets. Can I crush these and mix them all together to add to my water and drink, or is this dangerous? I drink so much water in the morning my commute is horrible with needing to....well, you know!

The only time crushing pills is dangerous is when you are dealing with opiates. As long as you aren't slipping pain killers in with your calcium, you should be fine.

Isolated, fragmented, artificial, vitamins from the store are not even good for you. You need a good nutritional supplement made from whole food. Calcium you take in the supplement form does not get process by the body. Your liver just filters it out and throws it away. The best calcium comes from your dark green veggies. You body prefers nutrition in the natural way. If you don't eat fish... the cod liver oil is good for your omega 3s. Stay with the fruits and veggies.

A good whole food nutrition is Juice Plus+. Many doctors use it in their practices because it helps the body to build good body cells so it can heal itself. check it out. http://www.juiceplus.com/nsa/pages/Home....

Why are you taking all this stuff when a simple one-a-day type multivitamin with minerals would give you the same benefit at a fraction of the cost?

I will caution you to remember that you can overdose on some vitamins. Keep you daily recommended intake in check. Also crushing creates a different digestive method and time schedule than planned by the manufacturer. Some are to be taken with food and others are not. As a final thought, if you care enough about your health to take needed supplements then care enough to take them properly.
