Causes of Seizures (Not Epilepsy)? |
I'm 19 and had a seizure back in November. I lost complete conciousness and according to witnesses, it was a grand mal seizure. After tests, my MRI and CT scan both came back clear...but my EEG came back slightly abnormal. I had gotten very little sleep the night before, which I know can cause seizures. The neurologist was unable to diagnose me with anything. I was on medication for a short period of time before stopping. Hello, i am an epileptic, and have had seizures my whole life the only thing i can tell you to cause a seizure without being an epilectic, it is stress, a blow on the head or a bad fall, but if you have experienced neither than you need to see a doctor , like a neurosurgion they are the best in determining if you are or not an epileptic,because some people whom are epileptic's do not even no it until it comes on, what are your syptoms after you have had one?, because i do have grand mal seizures, it can also caused by a very high temp. and i am in the medical field as well, also an odor can bring them on hi....there are many causes of seizures.....fever,brain infection,brain tumors,metabolic disorders,inadequate oxygen supply,toxic drugs/chemicals......these are only a few.....good luck...... How long before you stopped the pills did you get the seizure!!! I would defn go get a second opinion.
