Can Seizures ruin your Vision ? |
Before I ever had seizure I was already wearing glasses but the prescription weren't bad and I didn't need to wear them 24-7. Just when I needed to see something that was at a far distance. But in 2002 I had my first Seizure and put on Anti-Convulsants. I've had a few seizures after the first one but I was having trouble with my vision so I went to get my eyes examined and was given glasses of a stronger prescription. That was about 3-4 yrs ago but just a FEW days ago I got new glasses cuz my old frames were worn out. I again got another exam and found my eyes were worse. I'm not doing anything that might make your vision go bad. But I'm wearing glasses as thick as a Bullet-Proof glass window and I wanna know if possibly Seizure could be the cause. I occasionally still have seizures but I'm conscious and no trembling of the body. Just like few second phases which neurologist says might be caused by stress not by the medication not working. Whats your opinion guys ?? The underlying disorder that is causing the seizures could affect your vision if the brain or optic nerve suffer damage. This would be an effect that would cause reduced vision even with glasses. LASIK is a substitute for glasses; it will do no more than your glasses do. Seizures has a possibility to ruin your vision. I have seizures too. Obv they can make u a bit out of it at first but thats not what ur asking. |
