Does anyone have seizures? If so, what kind?

I have gran mal seizures and take Dilatins before bed.
So far Ive had about 10 seizures a month. Does anyone know how many you have to have before you'll get accepted for social security? Ive tried for a good 8yrs, even w/a lawyer, and was told that I dont have enough seizures. Is that true?

If you are on Dilantin and having that many Grand Mal seizures - find another lawyer and also another Doctor - obviously they do not have you on the right dosage. I know two people who have seizures - one of whom is on Social Security Disability - because with the Medicine she still has Petit Mal Seizures (smaller ones). Also from the seizures she originally had a head trauma and does not concentrate or make as much sense when she talks as she used to ( she is slower and sometimes starts talking in the middle of a thought). The other person has major Grand Mal seizures lasting over 20 min's and then he is in the hospital for days recovering when his meds are stopped or changed etc... But he is not eligible for Disability because his seizures are controlled if he stays on the meds.
Get another Doctor to look at you also since your seizures are not being controlled by your medicines. Something has to be adjusted obviously.

it all depends on your state/country you live in. also, if it interfers with daily livings such as work or school or childcare- they you may qualify. talk to your doctor regarding this. he or she may know a few ways around the social security laws. good luck.

If you are still having that many seizures, you don't have your medication or dosages right yet. My husband has Epilepsy, seizure disorder. He takes two anti-seizure meds. three times a day, every day. He might have one seizure a month some times he doesn't have a seizure for months. You can only get SSDI if you cannot work. If you can even with the disorder you can't get SSDI at all. My husband has a good job, I drive him where he needs to go. He does not have a dr. lic. never has had one.

will i have gran mal seizures but since i havent had them in awhile im off the medican. but i never knew that u could file for social security for seizures it must be a lot. if u have that much u might want to try different medican it must not be working

I don't really know anything about seizures but good luck!
