Does anyone here have Seizures or depression even with medication? |
My friend has seizures about once a month if she is taking medication. She says her Seizures are Nonepileptic and doctors can't find a cause. She is on medication for her seizures but has about one a month and it wipes her out for a week. She is also on medication for depression and still gets very depressed. When she is not depressed or having a seizure, she is the happiest person to be around and a lot of fun. She has 4 small children to take care of and her husband works a lot. I am taking dinner over tomorrow to try and help, but want to help more. I would really like to understand more about how the seizures and depression effect her and what she is going through. Does this happen to anyone and can you tell me more? What would cheer you up if you were tired and depressed? Have you found anything helpful for either? Many antidepressants have dangerous side effects. Check out antidepressantsfacts.com. A lot of these medications cause vasoconstriction, causes the blood vessels to shrink up, can cause seizures, strokes, headaches, etc. These medications are turning out to be a lot more dangerous than the pharmeceutical companies claim. It is not necessary for their to be a physiologic relationship between the depression and the seizures. The depression could likely stem from the seizure disorder. For seizures, I would suggest Klonopin and Dilantin. For the depression, I would first consult with a neurologist which your friend should already have. I would guess a non - activating SSRI would be fine but because she has a seizure disorder (Always consult with a doctor of medicine for anything moderately serious or worse) then a Shrink & Neurollogist should be consulted. |
