Faking seizures and Cancer??? |
some one i know keeps claiming to have seizures but of all the time i have lived with this person i have never seen with my own eyes them having one.And when confronted they use excuses like i was sleeping. The same person has now been saying they have cancer.but no proof,no papers,no prescriptions for the seizures,no nothing to prove either claims. All this person says is one minute they cant get treated (for both seizures and cancer)becoz no insurance and the next they say they go to this hospital for treatment(for the cancer that is).this person is unfortunatly a close family member.could this be some sort of munchausen syndrom or somtheing???please help!!!.proffessional opinions reccomended but but others are welcome to..thanks shes a grown a** woman i cant make her do anything.i think ive come to my own conclusion that this person is sick and is trying to have control by doin things like this and is trying to get everyones sympathy.which might i add does not work(atleast not with me)i was jus wondering if theres like a mental condition this can be associated with... It could be that, or it could be the truth... It is sad either way. Munchausen syndrome is where a parent (mothers mostly) makes thier child sick on purpose so they can treat them. This person sounds like they are just crying for attention. It's a mental case crying out for attention. Join the crowd. It seems every family has one such person. Nothing much to do, just live your life, and don't get too involved emotionally. If you start sympathizing too much it will progressively get worse for you. These people have a need to control people and this is how they do. They also lie shamelessly looking right into your eyes. If you notice no symptoms then they don't have any syndrome. good luck I had a friend like that! well x friend and she would fake seizers and always told everyone that she has a brain tumor that was not operable. she did it for attention. I no longer talk with this person. Take her to the doctors yourself, prove to her or him that they are a lier What kind of cancer does this person have? If it affects the brain or the spine, you might even see a person have tremors as a result. My MIL had a brain tumor and she had difficulty walking. My friend who is going through cancer right now has it in her lungs, brain, spine and kidneys. She started out very tired. Tell him or her that you are very concerned and would like to get involved and give them the third degree. Ask Who is his or her doctor? Ask What kind of prescriptions do you have to take? Ask about the prognosis. Is it terminal? What does the dr. say to expect. Say you would like to help by taking them to their appts. and talking to a pastor. Maybe the real truth will come out if they are put on the spot or have the fear of God to deal with. lol It would be one way to find out if they were looking for self pity or needed attention. I would think that this person would offer all sorts on information if they were really in that condition. Also, how old is this person? It is however possible that they don't have insurance and it would be true that would be refused treatment for cancer. Be very inquisitive to ask how it is that you can go to this hospital for treatment. Ask like your nose is hurting you alll the way! lol I have a friend who did exactly what you are saying... faked a brain tumor and took it as far as to shave her head and put a patch with ketchup on the back of her head for sympathy or whatever her freakin reasons were for trying to fool everyone around her. She got busted and her friends showed up at the hospital she claimed to be having brain surgery at and they had never heard of her and then they made a call to her parents and her mom was furious because this kind of behavior seems to be her MO. Needless to say she was faking and now has another illness which went from Lupus to Rheumatoid Arthritis to now Fibromyalgia. How bout Just CRAZY!!! That works for me and I have no sympathy for her. She stole it all away when she faked the brain cancer and I don't believe for one minute that she has any illness other than some nut disorder. That is not to be mean to anyone who has a mental disorder, but what do you call chronic liars??? Is that a disorder and can it really be treated? It does sound like it MAY be Munchhausen syndrome . |
