Seizures...Help the Vagus Nerve Stimulation Therapy (VNS) or the Ketogenic Diet? |
My son has mixed epilepsy and cerebral palsy, no medication has done any thing for him, he is now 3years old, he's had seizures since he was 6 months old. Until now they haven't been able to find what's causing them, He has 10 to 15 seizures a day. I have only two choices left VNS or Keto Diet, brain surgery is not an option for him since it is all over the brain. Any advice, suggestions, or any other information, please help, open to any advice Not an easy situation for you and your family, I would think. I've seen better results overall with the ketogenic diet, but it is tough to do. Each child is a unique case, though, so I'd generally take the advice of your pediatrician and pediatric neurologist. This is not really a good place to seek medical advice. I'm so sorry that you feel that your options are so limited. I'd say the doctors will probably make the best recommendations they can and their knowledge of the background is a lot more extensive. My best wishes to you and your family. |
