Daughter has migraine/seizure disorder that occasionally causes seizures on left side of body. Symptoms are:?

During a "normal" episode, w/no seizure. (This normally happens about once a month. for about 8 years now) She sees an Aura (squiggly lines) in her left peripheral vision. She feels nauseous. Sometimes she vomits, sometimes not. She has a glossy look in her eyes, and has a hard time focusing her eyes, she can't talk much but can answer yes or no questions. If she vomits right away she goes to sleep for at least 2 hours and wakes up fine. If she wakes up early, she has major eye pain.

If she doesn't vomit within 2-3 minutes, this condition worsens and leads to seizures. Her eyes deviate to the left and she starts to seize eyes open like in a "coma state". This happens for about 2 minutes at most.

She was on tegretol (anti-seizure) and these episodes still happened. She was taken off and placed on Topamax (anti migraine/seizure).

Last wk she had an "episode", but this one was different because she was stuck in "coma state" for about 4 hours. she now takes both meds. HELP!

These symptoms have been linked to thyroid disease, as well as 'mini strokes' and go away entirely once the person is on a proper thyroid dose. most docs do not associate this with thyroid. get test for tsh, free and total T3 and T4 as well as Reverse T3 which shows how much T3 can be used by the body out of what is in the blood for use. also get parathyroid and calcium levels done.
