Do seizures hurt? |
I have a son that is 2, and he has been having seizures for almost a year now. And I had a cousin that had them...she said they don't hurt. But I was wondering if all seizures are the same do some cause pain?? And if so how bad??? =( thank you everone for your answers....i greatlyappreiciate it. as for the man with the rude remark. This is a VERY SERIOUS issue in my life.So I can do with out stupid comments. If you could see what a child goes threw with this you wouldnt be so ignorant!! Thanks!! It really depends on the type of seizure. in the Grand Mall it could hurt if the person fell into anything or on anything. otherwise it doesn't, the person that has the seizure will not even realize they had one. A petty mall seizure doesn't hurt anyone they pretty much realize they had a seizure. and are afraid of what could of happened. My daughter didn't learn to drive until she was 22 because she was afraid she would have a seizure while driving. (which was very possible except that her meds would have helped her, but the fear was still there. i know sometimes they give you a bad head ache. your muscles tense up so it is probably sore after You need to talk to your son doctor he could tell and help you to understand seizures They hurt sometimes. probably the only pain is caused if he hits something hard, and dont hold him down, there have been cases of people breaking their own bones with their muscles During the seizure, there is no pain, but afterwards, muscles hurt. Seizures can cause the person to contort their body unnaturally, and in older people, I have even seen them cause muscle damage. Usually, small children have less because their muscles are more supple. They say they don't hurt because they can't remember them No my partner has epilepsy and he says no, however the damage done during a seizure does hurt. Some people get scared to go to bed for fear of night time seizures. i dont know if they hurt. my husband has them because he's an alcoholic. he has'nt had any for awhile now, but he's starting to drink the hard stuff again so he will probubly have one soon. when he did have one he did'nt no nothing after it, he was totaly confused. another time he had one in the kitchen and fell down and sprained his ankle. so much for drinking,ha? I have a 20 years old son suffering from seizures due to epilepsy. I hope you already sook medical advice for your son and that he has been dignosed and is taking medicine to control his seizures. If not, please do so as soon as possible. I have grand mal seizures. I have fallen during some of my seizures and hurt myself. I have also come out of a seizure with a migraine so bad that it was unbearable. My body would be so weak that I couldnt walk. Then the muscles would be so sore for days from them tensing up during the seizure. My memory is bad. Simple things are hard for me to remember. Little everyday things. Makes me feel like a idiot. Especially for being 33 years old. Best of luck to you and for your 2 yr old. |
