Seizures-what about them?

My mother has seizures alot.I try not to cry,but I do.
I call my dad and he comes home from work. What can I do?
What causes seizures?

well staying upside down for too long may cause you a seziure b/c the blood is rushing to your brain Seizures are temporary abnormal electro-physiologic phenomena of the brain, resulting in abnormal synchronization of electrical neuronal activity. They can manifest as an alteration in mental state, tonic or clonic movements, convulsions, and various other psychic symptoms (such as d茅ja vu or jamais vu). They are due to temporary abnormal electrical activity of a group of brain cells. The medical syndrome of recurrent, unprovoked seizures is termed epilepsy, but some seizures may occur in people who do not have epilepsy.

The treatment of epilepsy is a subspecialty of neurology; the study of seizures is part of neuroscience.

Unfortunately, there isn't much you can do for someone who is having seizures--aside from taking the proper medications, and preventing the person from hurting themselves. For example, moving any objects they could hit their head on, keeping them comfortable, etc. Do not hold their head, or put anything in their mouth.

The brain has little electric impulses going through it all the time. When someone has a seizure, these impulses go wild. The neurons start sending lots of signals through the brain. That is the simplified version.

If she is seeing a doctor about it I can tell you one thing that can help the her doctor. If you can time how long the seizures last every time she has one and put the day that it happen to her and then show it to the doctor that will help them see how bad her seizures and how many times she has them.

The reason why I'm telling you this is because I did that and they found that some medicine's didn't work for me.So it got to where I had to go under surgery in Feb.2004 and since that day I have yet to have a seizure.
