How to solve secondhand smoking? My mom smokes, she won't stop and if I run for 10 minutes, I can't breathe... |
I've tried and there is no way to get her to stop, her boyfriend smokes too. I can't afford to move out and I had to chase my dog today when her leash broke. I thought I was dying. I couldn't breathe for almost two minutes, my chest and heart hurt and I felt like throwing up. I couldn't stop coughing. I think it's because of second hand smoke. How can I avoid it? Thanks! She started smoking outside alittle bit more, but still does inside and her boyfriend is insane. He'll come into my room smoking, and I'll ask him to leave, but he'll just keep on talking and smoking, like I never said anything. Is there a medication I can take to cancel out the smoke or something? What about excercising, will that help? That's really selfish of them...how hard is it to go outside? Your mom's boyfriend's behavior is really rude. Nancy, I have had asthma attacks just from the smoke clinging to people's clothing. A person smoking in the car in front of me tightens my lungs. She really needs an air purifier and posters of what a smoker's lungs look like after years of smoking. Report It It really is bad for you ,worse than smoking yourself I hear. Refuse to stay in the room with them when they're smoking. Open windows all the time, and ask them to smoke outside, in the garage, etc. You could try going to a doctor, but I'm not sure how good an idea that would be =/ Tell her that you don;t smoke & its not fair that you have to inhale 2nd hand smoke which kills worse than smoking There is no medication unless you've been diagnosed with asthma.. But just sit them both down and ask if they can smoke outside, and give them reasons why. If that doesn't work, then when they light up, do not stay in the same room, and make sure windows are open. That's the best you can do until you get your own place..then you can make sure no one smokes in your presence. It's your mother's house...you choose to live there. It's her right to smoke in her house. You have no right to ask her to stop. my grandfather does the same thing. my teacher told me that the best thing to do is bug them. eventually they are going to stop. if they dont give her and her boyfriend packets and information on smoking and the danger it bring to her and the people around her. |
