Am I right about smoking?

I hear a lot of people say that when a smoker smokes a cigarette, the person standing next to him/her is harmed a lot more. I think this is incorrect. Obvioulsly the smoke that a smoker gets through a filter is less harmful than the smoke from the other side of a cigarrette, but wouldn't the smoker get filter smoke as well as secondhand smoke from the other side of a cigarrette while the bystander just gets secondhand smoke? Am I right or what?

You are correct in the smoker is causing the most harm to himself. The exception to the rule would be smoke drifting over to a person who is very allergic to smoke, sending them into an asthma attack which potentially can be fatal if not treated. This would be the only reason I could think of where secondhand smoke would be worse to a bystander than the smoker. Women who bartend have a higher incidence of lung cancer than the general population because of second-hand smoke exposure so indirectly, you are contributing to their cancer.

You are wrong. The smoke from the other side of the cigarette goes up, and, the exhales the smoke into the other person's body. Also, the books say so.

Nah, sorry mate you're wrong.

We should make them pay for getting free stuff from OUR cigarettes.

Okok no thumbs down I was joking... I don't smoke around non-smokers myself.
