My roommate smokes pot regulary. what effects does this have on me (secondhand wise)? |
i'm a medical student and have to work very hard just to get by in my classes. the last thing i want is to mess up my head or get "pot-smoking lazy" from his smoke. i told him i don't mind as long as he opens a window and puts a fan in front of it, but i'm smelling it from across the house and starting to get upset. does anybody know of any studies about the effect of second-hand pot smoke on mental health? You sound like a considerate person. Rest assured, a 'contact high' happens on the level of the psyche, when the subconsiousness reacts to the more free behavior of the high person, and you also loosen up. Otherwise - nothing biological, unless the room is really full with a visible fog of smoke - then, as any smoke filled room - it taxes the lungs There are no known side effects of second-hand pot smoke. The only known deleterious effects or marijuana at all are to the smoker and include damage to a woman's eggs and damage to the lungs simply due to the smoking aspect of it. Don't worry. It may make you chill out a bit and stop worrying so much, and let's face it - with such an uptight mindset would that be such a bad thing?! |
