Can second opinion dentist take out temporary fill-in from first dentist? |
I went to the dentist who put in a fill-in. I had to go back a few times to get it readjusted as I couldn't close that side of my mouth one time and the other, I started feeling a tingling pain and couldn't eat on the side. I was still experiencing the uncomfortable feeling after going back the few times and the dentist put in a temporary fill-in, prescribed antibiotics and stated that if I still feel uncomfortable when biting, I need a root canal but if not, the fill-in just needs readjusting. I am going for a second opinion to another dentist. Can the new dentist take my temp fill-in out or will I have to go back to the old dentist to get it taken out. Will I need to tell the new dentist exactly what happened with the old dentist and if the dentist says that I do not need a root canal, should I go back to the old one and get fill-in put back in so that I won't be charged or get new dentist to do it. I'm just trying to figure out how to go about getting second opinion. Thanks! When you go for the second opinion they will take an xray and examine your teeth. You will then decide which dentist you want to continue with. The second opinion dentist will start his treatment just like he would have if you would have come to him first. He will proceed as he thinks you should be treated for that tooth. You can not keep flipping back between the two dentists, they will not allow it. Pick the one you are most comfortable with and stick. |
