Should I get a second opinion about having braces again? |
I had braces for two years, and after an emergency, had to move to a new state. My retainer was lost and by the time we moved my teeth had already shifted. I got a retainer upon moving here, and my new orthodontist is telling me I need braces again in order to fix my teeth. She doesn't seem reliable...should I get a second opinion from a different orthodontist? Yes Go ahead! You have nothing to lose (if you are in the US, usually the consultations are free). If your teeth have already shifted you will probably have to get braces again to get your teeth back the way they were. I'm currently wearing braces for the second time because when I got my wisdom teeth pulled my teeth began to shift and I ended up with spaces. If your not sure if you like the orthodontist you went to I would definitely get a second opinion. I went to two different orthodontist before I got my braces. I did not like the personality of the second orthodontist I went to so I chose to go with the first orthodontist. |
