Doctors dont know anything...Second opinion stories?

Kidney problems for 5 years...3 doctors....I have had enough. One even "gave up on me" and told me that they have no idea whats wrong with me......Have you gotten a second opinion and then found that the first doctor who said you were fine, was wrong, and the 2nd one found something important?!

If you're not feeling good...I would keep looking for a doc., who will help you...it doesn't matter how many other opinions you need to get...
I would also try alternative medicine.
Keep a journal & take someone else with you, who can be your advocate. Someone, who you trust & possibly has some medical knowledge. We put doc.'s on pedestal but you know more about your own body than anyone else. Doc.'s are human & can be fallible too.
It can also be about the money, insurance companies don't want to pay for your ill health.
I just heard on the news this evening, that Blue Cross sends out letters to doc.'s asking them to list patients with a pre-existing conditions...like being pregnant...so, they can be denied.....how sad is that...

I would rather the Dr tell me that he didn't know what was wrong than to continue to fish for answers. Maybe you should see a specialist? Depends on your symptoms.

I haven't, but a lot of docs out there are complete idiots. Research their credentials and all that. I've met a few that were NOT taking care of me!

I had to leave my first shrink because I really didn't like him at all. He thought I had Asperger's and didn't do anything to help me! Argh, I am so glad I switched over! The other guy acts so cold to me, but since I only see him like every other month, I can handle it.
