Should we get it done? Or second opinion??

Ok heres the deal - my husband and I have been going through some things for the past year or so and today things became more clear to us.

My husband had a condition where his enamel was rotting excessively. To make a long story short, the dentist put him on a medication he KNEW he was allergic to for about 6 months. Now, my husband has an abscess and this same dentist put him BACK on that medication (WE just fount out today hes allergic to it) and told him he had to wait 3 months to get it extracted but in the same breath said that it could kill him if it spread to his brain. Should we have him pull the tooth? Should we get a second opinion? What should we do here?

He knew my husband was allergic to pennecillin yet he prescribed him amoxicillin. THAT'S how he knew he couldn't take it.

How would your dentist know that your husband was allergic to a medicine that your husband didn't even know he had an allergy to?
I would seek a second opinion, just to make yourselves comfortable with the diagnosis and treatment plan. I would also seek a third opinion if the first two were different.
Good luck.

Go to a dental school instead where they have students and proper proceedures in place for this kind of thing to be flagged up.Check with your local hospital.

i think i would let the doctor pull it. So he wont be in so much pain
