Got second opinion from other doc but still confused.../sinus/alergie? |
i just contacted second doc about my problem and he confirmed what first one said.... BUT.... well, every person has different genes If you have a sinus infection you need antibiotics. Many doctors do not prescribe enough antibiotics for a sinus infection. Sinus infections are mean and take at least 2 weeks worth of antibiotics if not 3 weeks. I get headaches, toothaches, etc. w/ sinus infection. I actually have the same problem. Often a "sinus" headache starts in the back of my head and only does the front of my head start to hurt if my sinuses get really bad. I thought I was crazy/had a brain tumor/hurt my neck until my doctor told me about the referred pain (since the nerves run along the same pathways.) I've found keeping my seasonal allergies under control are about the only thing that helps. Unfortunately I still have headaches pretty frequently. I use a sinus rinse bottle that helps (I can't use Sudafed because it dries me out so bad I can't stand it, also makes me feel weird-kind of spacey.) First, are you using sudafed or sudafed D. Always pick sinus meds with a D for decongestant. When I can't get prescription meds, I always take Muccinex D (one pill 2x a day) and nasal spray to clean out sinus cavities. If you don't use a decongestant, you never actually get rid of the infection. |
