Second opinion required?

Just been the doctors, after i found some spots on me penis, after a little bit of research on the net, i thought this looks like warts. so i made an appointment with my doctor, anyway, he has a look and says they are.
ok, i thought. i can deal with that, what next?

he told me to come back if they get bigger, and told me to tell my girlfriend to get checked. it was then, much to my suprise he went on to the internet to search for treatments?
surely he should know the score on that?

i just feel that i havent been told anyting i didnt already know, and im wondering whether it is necessary for treatment.
he did say they werent at a serious stage?
but how long would they go in? how could i treat them.?

my heads up me **** with worry....
any suggestions would be helpful. Do not try and judge me morally because i can do that myself, thank you

hey, you may have had the wart virus in your body for years without actual warts becoming visible, so don't beat yourself up about it.
You should go to a sexual health clinic, they know what they are doing and will treat visible warts, as they are more unsightly than anything else, but they will grow and spread.
Once you have the wart virus, generally it will be in your system forever as there is no cure as such, so you will need to think about using condoms.
Your g/f may need to be treated too (for any visible wart) and ensure that she gets regular smear tests as the wart virus is linked to cervical cancer.
It is a very common sexually transmitted disease (1 in 7 have it) and as it lives on the skin it does not mean that you have to have had sex to pick it up ( Some people pick it up at birth from their mum!)

Well if they're really big they could be warts
He probably went on the net for an extra opinion or to check that he was right. Don't worry
You can always go to another doc for a second opinion anyway, they could just be normal though

Id say get a second opinion. mabye a sexual health clinic. they most likely have seen this problem before so would be best suited for more proffesional advice.

go see an other doctor ... those things can be treated, and it's always best to be done in early stage ... don't worry ... get it sorted ... by a PROFESSIONAL!

Go to a sexual health clinic for more specific advice or ask your doctor to refer you to a specialist.

Doctors are GP's - General practioners, which means they know a little about everything so its not surprising he needed to check online for some info, surely thats better than him making it up?

Check the Yellow Pages or local directory for the number of a Sexual Health Clinic, phone them up, arrange an appointment and go see them. At least you'll know one way or the other. Don't forget to arrange one for your girlfriend at the same time.

Ok, no one's judging you don't worry.

A GP isn't expected to know the ins and outs of every single thing he comes across which is why you have dedicated areas of medicine. If I were you book an appointment at your nearest Sexual Health Centre, these are found in most hospitals and are also known as GUM centres.

They will take a look and treat you there and then.

Yeah Doc's are human
Most of the time when they do go look things up it is on the Internet, but there are good websites for doctors to look things up on. Would you have been more comfortable if he had used a book to look up treatment. (that might have been written 10 years ago) No so he wanted to get you the most current treatment which is on his reference site.

remember a good doctor will always look something up to be sure and not give you a half ****** I think that this the right answer reply.
So it is best he did look it up!

Go to a sexual health clinic around your area. The local hospital should have a GUM clinic where you can get tests for all stds and aids and that. I would say a second opinion is best. Good luck

Go to a sexual health clinic. I've found that not all doctors are well educated in STD's (some do though)

I can't judge, I have herpes, so don't worry.
