Do I need a second opinion??? |
I was seen in the emergency room and diagnosed with adenopathy. They seemed to believe it was caused by a scratch on my leg and that it caused the lymph nodes on the right side of my groin to become infected. I am on 2 antibiotics and a pain medicine. That was 2 nights ago. Tonight i have severe swelling of my vaginia and what appears to be "cuts" or breaks. It is so sore to the touch or when sitting. I experience no discomfort when I urinate and I'm wondering if the infection is making it's way out of my lymph node area through my vaginia. Has anyone ever experienced this or heard of it? I have a follow up visit scheduled but it's not for a few days. Any help would be appreciated. Yes, you better off errring on the side of caution the antibiotics could have caused a yeast rash...you could have an std, I would get a second opinion ASAP...at the least they will be able to treat your new symptoms If you have severe swelling, I would get a second opinion. It could be that the antibiotics aren't working, or it is something else. I would get help before swelling gets too severe, making it harder to clean after urination, making it worse. Good luck. no they are not related I'd say call your doctor's on call service and explain the situation to whoever answers and ask for the doctor to call you back. If you're experiencing the kind of discomfort like you say you are, go to the ER. That way they can see the area and figure out what to do for it and how to help relieve the pain. Good luck! Get in touch with you doctor I would not trust a ER doctor on a female problem. I would go to my family doctor. Antibiotics can kill the good bacteria in your vagina, which makes it more vulnerable to infection, especially of the yeast kind. Is there any change from your normal discharge? Also, your lymph system is a huge part of your immune system. Anything that suppresses your normal immune system leaves you open to opportunistic bugs that are normally kept in check by your body. Yeasties are huge opportunists, so again this can lead to an infection in your vagina that is only indirected related to the one your lymph system is fighting. |
