Is SAD (seasonal affective disorder) hereditary?

I know it is REAL in myself, should my son be concerned?

Yes it is hereditary. Now almost illness are due to genetic disorder. But it is not necessary that this defective gene may pass from you to your son. It may, it may not be.

SAD or any other version of depression can be hereditary through a learned means, by passing similar traits or behaviors to your son.
