People with Seasonal Affective Disorder: Do you begin feeling depressed in early fall?

I have SAD, and I'm beginnig to feel depressed right now. I usually begin early fall. Is this common among sufferers?
How do you treat SAD? I will be starting light therapy soon, but sometimes I feel that there must be something else that can be done to treat it.
My appetite increases dramatically during the winter. Is it just because I"m depressed and want to deal with my feelings (in a negative way?)
Well, that's enough for questions. I'm new to the diagnosis (but I've had this my whole life). THANKS!

Yes this is very common in seasonal affective disorders, have you tries hypnotherapy as an alternative therapy? It is also successful for depression, have a look on the website below for depression treatment. Good Luck

I would seriously give a go afterall you have nothing to lose. Good Luck Report It

I love the fall... If I got depressed at any time it would have to be when everything gets all hot and sweaty....

I have depression year-round, though it gets worse in the wintertime. I do take SSRIs and B-complex vitamins and Omega 3 Fish Oil supplements. Both have been proven to elevate mood, and I have noticed a difference in my mood since starting the supplements several months ago.

Good luck!
