Scoliosis??

I'm not sure I spelled it right, but I have it and the doctor said it wasn't bad enough to have to wear a backbrace. But I want to fix it still!! I know sitting up straight is obviously good to do but are there and other things to do as well, like exercises or anything?? Thanks sooo much!

Scoliosis is curvature of the spine. My sister had this when we were little, but it was because we both have neurofibromotosis. Her's was so severe, she had to wear a back brace for many years, after serveral operations. In less severe cases, the Dr says nothing can be done for it, it can only be healed by surgery or a brace or both, because he said I had a slight case of it when I broke my back which doesn't mean u will brake yours........he doesn't know how I broke it except for the fact that I fell a year ago at Home Depot, and he says according to the MRI, it happened around the same time. Mild cases are usually easier to put up with with good posture, but no diet in the world or any medicine will cure it, just eat the right foods to improve your bones so you won't get osteoporosis. Also, even though Chirpractors claim they can adjust it in time, you will be wasting your money because there is no cure for it. I am really sorry to have to tell u this, but there is no cure for it without surgery and u don't have it bad enuf to have surgery or wear a brace, however, I would get a second opinion on wearing a brace for it.

it gets worse as you get older so make sure you are taking proper amounts of vitamins and minerals and have a good intake of calcium... sit up strait maybe go see a chiropractor and tell them you have it and maybe they can work with you every few weeks making sure you are in allignment. Also go to a healthfood store and ask what natural remedies there may be to help bone health

If I were you I would google scoliosis; read the entries at medline, mayo clinic or other reputable website. Doc said it isn't serious: I am amazed that doc didn't hand you a fistful of pamphlets on do-it-yourself exercise program, etc. Since doc didn't do that, it's up to you to take the next steps. And what is causing this scoliosis? Can you improve your diet, lifestyle, work habits, etc. to remediate the situation?

Please take much care of it because it's the start of later in life back bone hernias.

I wish you the best.

You can't really fix scoliosis with exercise or stretching, but you can definitely keep scoliosis from becoming a bigger problem by paying attention to your posture and keeping physically fit. The most important thing to do up through the teens is to monitor the curve closely to prevent it from getting too far along.

Please read this all the way through!
I have the answer you've been looking for. Yes scoliosis can be reversed-NATURALLY!
Going on, I am 21 yrs. old, and I USED to have scoliosis (starting from age 12) due to a horrible car accident in which I was thrust through the windshield. I was one degree off of being in that terrible brace, and I was scheduled for the surgery at the time. The only problem, my doctors could not promise me relief from my pain, even after surgery. I said "No", and today I thank God that I did. My syptoms worsened through high school, and I began having at least three migraines a week, in which no medication would touch.
Finally, I found a miracle. His name is Dr. Fuh, and his treatment is amazing. He is a member of the Board of Directors of the Clear Institute for Scoliosis. They concentrate on the treatment and correction of scoliosis, and they have a TON of research devoting to it! (read it for yourself at http below) They are all about the future of scoliosis, finding treatment that nobody else has done before--new ideas! They are about treatments that work. I can give you a book of research if you need it! In fact, 19 independent studies were done, all resulting in one thing--it works!
I went in to the spinal clinic, he took an hour and a half just examining me, and then he said, "I'll have you pain free in six weeks, and your scoliosis competely reversed shortly thereafter". I didn't believe him, but I thought, "what else can I lose except pain?"
That was two months ago. After the first treatment, my belly-button was where it was supposed to be (after being two inches to my left for eight years) and my shoulders were straight. I live two hours away from the clinic, but it is so worth the drive twice a week to see him. The treatments I receive are painless, natural, and medication-free. I actually fall asleep half of the time! The friendly staff is fun and inviting, and it is the highlight of my week. I am a full-time college student (going to school to be a teacher), a full-time worker, church member, and family person, and they work around my schedule.
If you don't live near here, I still invite you to contact him. He has a team of other spinal specialists all over the U.S. that he contacts constantly. He is always willing to help scoliosis patients, so just email him or call him, and he can tell you the nearest place to get the treatment I am getting. Tell him Myranda told you (I am one of his proudest patients) and he will jump right to it.
I know how you feel, and I know it gets worse.
His website and mine are listed below. Feel free to email me with any further questions.
Also, on his site, there is a TON of research you can read, and he can give you even more. Please don't shrugg this off. I just want to shout it to the world. I can send you pictures if you need more proof! I hope the best for you and I hope you get it fixed like I did! Thanks!

Only device or treatment known to do any stable correction proven by studies is Spinecor.
