Scoliosis and stunt growth?

Can you stunt you growth if you lift a person as heavy as you or a bit lighter than you for 1-3 seconds? (I ask this cuz I recently went to athletics class and I am 13 and I am the tallest in the group and the rest are 12-16 years old and they are very short and they have been in this class for more than a year and the coach makes us lift people for 1-3 seconds after the warm you)

Scoliosis is not caused by weight lifting or other types of exercise. Of course, if you injure yourself while exercising, that could creat what's called antalgic scoliosis which is temporary and goes away once pain is gone. But otherwise...no...you are worried over nothing.
