Scoliosis and trauma....?

can u stunt ur growth if somebody hits u in the backbone and it causes u a light trauma (very light bruising for example)?

can u stunt ur growth if they hit u in the growth plate in the backbone?

can u stunt ur growth if they hit u very hard in the backbone but it does not cause a fracture?

how can u prevent scoliosis?

can u prevent it if you do sports?

if none of ur hips and shoulders are higher than the other, if your shoulder blades are equally high and none of them are more prominent than the other and if you bend down and both sides of the ribs are equal, do u have scoliosis?

Over 80% of all scoliosis is classified as idiopathic scoliosis, meaning there is no known causes, and most of these cases are in otherwise healthy people. And 80% of idiopathic scoliosis cases, is Adolescent Idiopathic Scoliosis (AIS), which develops in young adults around the onset of puberty. Scoliosis affects 2% of women and 0.5% of men in the general population. There are many causes of scoliosis, including congenital spine deformities, genetic conditions, neuromuscular problems and limb length inequality. Other causes for scoliosis include cerebral palsy, spina bifida, muscular dystrophy, spinal muscular atrophy and tumors. People who have a history of scoliosis in their family, have a higher risk of developing the disease. No, scoliosis would not be caused by a 'light' trauma.
Most people have some degree of scoliosis, some more than others, and for some, it never bothers them and they never even know that they have scoliosis.
Scoliosis is not preventable. Though if it's caught early measures can be taken to prevent it from getting worse.
It does not sound like you have scoliosis, though the only way to truly know is to get a chest x-ray. With me, I was visibly misaligned.
If you are truly concerned, go see your doctor and get a chest x-ray.

My hips and shoulders were visibly misaligned. And also, one of my legs was slightly longer than the other. Report It
