Scoliosis q! Please help!? |
How much can scoliosis possibly worsen in 3 months? (in degrees) well..generally speaking thoracic curvature over 30 degrees with low Risser Sign has about 90% chance of progression... Well, it really depends on the person. I was in the same boat that you are in a couple of years ago when I went to see my doctor about my back. We didn't know that I had scoliosis, but we soon found out that I had a 24 degree curve. Where my numbers were, (I'm sure you know all of those!) I wasn't supposed to have any change, but they wanted to check on me in 6 months. In that time my curve changed 14 degrees, and they find 5 degrees during that short time to be a HUGE change. It could get over 40, it's not out of the realm of possibility, but hopefully it doesn't! I have worn a back brace for 3 years now and I have found that strength training while focusing on the core helps a lot, but I would clear that with your doctor first. I hope this helped a little bit and I wish you the best of luck! YES! Get to a physical therapist / Dr. That will worsen over the years which means surgery, you don't want that if possible. Physical therapy and a back brace is what you want if possible. Good Luck |
