Celiac? Scleroderma? Antidepressants?

ok so ive been dizzy and light headed lately. im trying to figure out whats wrong. i was started on 40mg of prozac last month which was alot and for awhile i thought that was what caused the dizziness. ive been off the prozac now for 3 and a half weeks. so im guessing its safe to say its not the prozac causing this. i also have CREST scleroderma and was wondering if it could have something to do with that. i am slightly anemic but i have been fr years so i cant see how it would cause dizziness that just started 2 months ago. now i havent been diagnosed with celiac but i seem to have all of the symptoms. i am going to get tested for it. but i am basically looking for a cause of my dizziness and lightheadedness and fatigue. i have also had a cat scan done which came back normal and my blood pressure is perfect. any ideas? please help =)

No offense to the other answerer but it takes docs an average of 10 years to diagnosed a patient with Celiac and that USUALLY means multiple doctors!!
Yes, sclerderma, depression (and other mental illnesses) are very Celiac related.
Here's what I suggest you do:
Make an appt with a GI doc who KNOWS about CD. The easiest way to find one is to go to www.csaceliacs.org. Click on Local Support. Look for your area and this will hook u up with the chairperson on your area (or closest to you). Not ony will u finid the support group very helpful if u are diagnosed, but they are supposed to have a doc and dietician on their support list who they refer ppl to.

What you need is a blood work up (www.csaceliacs.org for diagnosing procedures) and a endoscopy with biopsy. DO NOT start the Gluten Free diet before testing--all test results will be inconclusive. So u MUST continue to eat a significant amount of gluten (most will say at least every meal. I say go all out! If u do have CD, this will be your last hurrah at eating gluten, so pig out!!) LOL :)

Please feel free to email me for more help or use the links i list. Best of luck, Amy

Have you seen an Ear, Nose and Throat specialist and or a cardiologist?

I am sure u r under medical care. Do what the doc says.
