Good luck

My heart goes out to your friend's family. I have a friend who has scleroderma and has had it for many years. If you google it you'll find out lots of info about it that will be helpful to you as you help to support your friends as they go thru this.
I wish you well.

i am 20 as well and was dx when i was 16. depending on the type she has it could merely affect her skin or both her organs and skin. scleroderma is the overproduction of collagen causing the skin(internally and outwardly) to harden and become tight. it is an autoimmune disease that can have the effects of arthritis. this is a cruel disease and my prayers are with your friend and her family. i personally haven't heard of a connection. but there is a website i suggest your friend visit...www.roadback.org and a book http://www.amazon.com/New-Arthritis-Brea... she should read. i myself have tried traditional treatments which did nothing for me but have seen results with this. all the best. email if you have more ?'s.
