Sciatica before and after L4 L5 Disc Decompression Surgery?

I'm in my late teens and just had L4 L5 Disc Decompression surgery. Before the surgery i would be slouched over when i walked with terrible pain and bad sciatica. I had the surgery and now i am able to stand up perfectly straight but i still have the sciatica. The doc said that is normal and it takes time for the sciatic nerve root to repair itself. How long has it taken for any of you? Did the pain ever go away?

That is my only concern, i am pain free in my back but it is just the sciatica in my upperthigh and going down my left leg.

WOW, THAT YOUNG AND BACK PROBLEMS. TOUGH IT OUT. ASK HIM FOR SOME KIND OF MEDICATION TO HELP WITH IT. THE STRECHES I DO TO HELP WITH MY SCIATIC NERVE IS TAKING ONE LEG AND PULLING UP TO YOUR CHEST TOWARD THE OPPISITE SHOULDER. HOLD FOR AS LONG AS YOU CAN. SWITCH LEGS. EACH TIME YOU DO IT TRY TO EXTEND THE TIME BY JUST A FEW SECONDS. IT STRETCHES THE MUSCLE THAT IS UNDER ALL YOUR GLUTE MUSCLES THAT IS ATTACHED TO THE LOWER PART OF THE TAIL BONE TO THE SIDE OF YOUR HIP, THAT WHEN YOUR HIPS STRECH AND THE MUSCLE SHRINKS, IT "PINCHES" YOUR SCIATIC NERVE.
