Sciatica?!?

First of all, I have had no prior accidents or injuries.

Oh my god. I have had this terrible pinched nerve in my lower back for three days. It has gotten steadily worse and now I can hardly move due to pain. It hurts to walk, sit or stand. I have tried taking Motrin, Tylenol Extra Strength Rapid Release, and 800mg of Ibuprofen. The Ibuprofen did not even touch the pain! I have an appointment at 3pm today, but I was wondering if this pain was normal. I get a shooting pain down both my cheeks as well. Anyone know if this could be a normal pinched nerve, or a slipped disc or something?

Sounds like Sciatica. I ended up in the emergency room with mine. Go and they'll give you something that will really kill the pain. Don't suffer, especially if you can't walk. I needed help in moving.

I also used a TENS machine but that's not something people usually have around the house. Mine was for labor pain, when I had my babies and I bought it from the U.K.

Once it's over, I suggest yoga. Ever since I started, it hasn't come back. Even if you simply sit on the floor and try to touch your toes, that will help keep it at bay.

Yes that is about normal! You have to take the Ibuprofen every 4 hours for it to get in your system. But it only helps for inflammation and swelling. Alternate heat and cold and lay on your back with your feet elevated. Also ask your doctor about Pain Killers! Hope this helps somehow!!

What you are describing sounds most definitely like a pinched nerve. Ouch!!!! I would use some ice to dull the pain. Every 15 min. I would try a consultation with a chiropractor also. Good luck.
