Sciatica?? |
I have severe tingling pain which radiates from my back to the back of my knee. I guess it is Sciatica. I'm not sure if I should visit an orthopaedician or a neurologist. Please help. Try a Yahoo search for sciatica + "natural remedies". Neurologist For this an orthopedist (not sure of the spelling) would be appropriate or a chiropractor. If it is Sciatica which I agree with you, that is what it sounds like, I suggest that you see a Neurologist. I wasted alot of time, and was in alot of pain fooling around waiting on an Orthopedist to do anything for my sciatica. They do not seem to want to treat the sciatic pain as aggressively as a Neuro will. By the time I finally saw a Neurologist for my Sciatic I needed immediate surgery and now, because of the delay in treatment have permanant nerve damage. I had back surgery about 2 years ago. I dinked around with an orthopedic surgeon and they only wasted my time and made me live longer with the pain. If you have a chance to see a neurologist take it. They will take an MRI and if you need surgery they can take care of it. As an alternative means of healing back & sciatica consider that most back & sciatica and other types of chronic pain are caused by inner tension/anxiety. One way of helping you determine this is to take a look at how you may create tension with your thoughts ( worry, resentment, anger, complaining, striving, being overly self-conscious or perfectionistic). These are the type of mental patterns that allow a person to Repress emotions, which inturn begins a biochemical process in our bodies called oxygen deprivation, which inturn causes the pain sensations you describe. The way to reverse this process is to begin to open up more, find out how you may be mentally repressing emotional energy. Hope this helps in your inquiry. |
