Hi all sufferers can you give me some answers on sciatica.?

my sciatica has just eased off but i am having probs with my left leg, its gone like jelly and keeps giving way but i have no pain with it not like the pain of sciatica which i always get in my right leg, my toes have also gone numb and have been for the last 3 days, iv'e been taking diazapan, diclofenic,coedine phospate and parosetimol (i know the spellings wrong but you know what i mean) all issued by the hospital for my sciatica, has anybody had this strange feeling and what can i do to ease it, i think it may be a trapped nerve, ive never had this in all the years ive had sciat ica. get well soon sufferers.

If you have numbness then you need to see a doctor again; sooner rather than later. Numbness is a sign of the nerve being compressed. The fact it is in the other leg than the one you usually have a problem with may indicate that the disc has 'shifted' or you may have a separate problem. If you have any numbness around the 'back passage' or any problems passing water then please seek help immediately. Take care and good luck.

Yes i suffer badley with syatica and have diclofenic 75mg 2x a day plus i bought a tens machine and find it very good it does ease the pain Report It

i had same prob then i started going to see a chiropractor I'm OK now but i still go every two months just to make sure it doesn't return it only costs 拢26 a time so its well worth it

Sciatica is caused by compression of the spinal nerves, and the leg pain often feels much worse than the back pain.
This is what is causing your numbness. Best to see your doctor if you feel it is much more severe than usual. Good luck, I know how painful it can be.

Get to a Doctor immediately! You could be suffering from weakened muscles. Write all of your symptoms down and take them with you to the Doctor, it'll help to explain things with better. Don't wait too much longer to see a Doctor about this since it could be something that could be fixed now but become permanent if left unattended. Good luck!

Sciatica is caused by a trapped nerve. Now we need to know where and that can be from a disc, muscle, joint:hip, knee, ankle. My problem is with my right leg, numbness on the exterior, have the top of the foot and weakness. I ended up with a Neurosurgeon. who sent me for a NCT or nerve conduct test. This basically fires electricity, small amounts through the nerves, so see if they are working, or trapped. Therefore, as I am now at risk of loosing my bowel and bladder function, you really need to see a Doc asap. The longer you leave this, well you may never regain the use, feeling in the limb. Good Luck
