I have 6 weeks to lose 10 pounds because in my health class at school....?

they weigh you and stuff then post a chart on how much body weight you need to gain or lose.
and im not fat but i def dont want my body fat to be measured. and displayed to the school.
and everyone who already had it done were so embarassed and even the skinniest people were told they needed to lose weight.
and im norma.
so i can only imagine...

Lose 10 pounds in 2 weeks??

There are some websites on the Internet, which promise you that you are going to lose 10 pounds in every 2 weeks. If you are good in math you will find that keeping these stats in mind, 260 pounds in a year. Losing 260 pounds is the figure, which is unbelievable and unexpected.

This kind of claims are planned just to cause clients to make impulsive decisions. When you gain weight, did you gained around 50 minds in two months? Certainly not. We gain weight in weight in small parts, which add up to our weight. This keeps on increasing with time.

I think you get what I mean to say. We normally gain weight in grams like 65 gram per week. With this stat you are going to gain around 7 pounds at the end of year.

This weight is so slow that you cannot measure it weekly. But in fur years you are going to gain around 28 pounds.

So how can you expect this weight to go in few days? You are going to lose the way you have gained it. So it will take time to lose weight. So you have to start losing weight systematically. You can lose weight by developing the good eating habits in you and nutritious foods.

thats sexual harrassment. they cant measure you if you dont want them to. its your body and they have no permission to touch it or tell you what to do with it. you should report your school because a lot of girls will probably start starving themselves to get to "the right body weight" thats all bull ****. as long as you feel comfortable with yourself then no one shoul dbother you.

complain to someone, thats not right. go to a different school or something

Try the special K diet. Or eat healthy and exercise. Don't put off loosing weight. Start ASAP.

I would let some adults (i.e. parents) know what is going on. This sounds like it could be very detrimental to many students' self esteem. I would refuse to participate.

THAT IS RIDICULOUS!!!.... no school can do that, legally or morally. If you feel you are a healthy weight then exercise and eat healthy to stay fit and be healthy but don't lose weight just becasue some school chart says you have to. if I were you I woulod refuse to be wieghed or have this index taken. Its infringing on your rights to privacy. If you have any concerns about your weight this is something you should speak with a doctor about not a gym teacher.

thats horrible, i cant imagine why they would even do that, its just pushing a unhealth image on people, if you are not over weight, and are comfortable, tell them to piss off, more cushin' for the pushin' is what i say, all of my back-stage betties on tour are always a-little on the sexually plump side if you know what i mean, mass where it counts

Get a second opinion in regards to the accuracy of the chart. If it is approved, then think Positive and You can DO IT !!!

i wouldnt lose weight. i would call an attorney!

I agree. There is no way that your teacher can do this ethically, and perhaps legally.

It's one thing to measure body fat, but another to blindly use a height-weight chart to tell you that you're overweight.

Did you know the following people were overweight and/or obese according to height-weight charts?

Barry Sanders (most of the NFL, actually)
Tom Cruise
Dubya Bush
Lance Armstrong

I've got tons of other famous people who are supposed to be overweight, and are not.

BTW, 1-2 pounds a week is a healthy rate, so you're not that far off if you still want to lose 10 pounds in 6 weeks.

They dont have any right to do this, i can understand if its in the nurses office behind closed doors, but not out where everyone can see.this is why you go to the doctors for normal yearly check ups. tell your mom to send a note to school with you that you dont want to do this,,its not none of their business and that if they are worried about that your mom will take you to your pediatrition.
Please dont do nothing you are uncomfortable with..

Serious invasion of privacy to post this information for others too see. This needs to be adressed. And unless there is a doctor instructing people about thier weight and or need to lose wieght... some one has a God complex or is a very sadisticteacher ! Go to the board of education, talk to your parents stage a protest, call the local Tv News show do what ever it takes...

Granted, losing 10 pounds in 6 weeks is no big deal.. cut out all the extra sodas and sugary/fried foods, drinking water. But it is not the job or purpose of the school or teachers to embarass children or make they think they should fit a certain mold.

Hmmmm I wonder how many of your teachers smoke, drink, over eat, dont wear seat belts yada yada yada....

thats an invasion of privacy, you should say something! call up administrators. or just refuse, thats what i would do. what are they going to do? suspend you for not being weighed??
sorry bout that man that sucks.

Health class, or public humility 101... I can't believe they'd do something like that in schools these days. No wonder the school system is so tarnished from what they'd admit. Anyway...

10 lbs in 6 weeks, shouldn't be too hard, then again can also depend on your lifestyle too...
If anything simple, I would suggest going for walks... It doesn't have to be miles, or hours... Just what you'd find enjoyable... If you have a dog, Hey! There's a perfect reason to go out... It's surprising how, not only is a walk with the dog is brisk, but for some odd reason it's actually fun with the dog... It's like an added motivation since, as many dog lovers know, as soon as Rover hears the slightest clink from the leash, he/she is ballistic with excitment and all set to bolt out of the house for that "thrill run".

cheers!

I do not agree at all what this school is telling the students to do. Tell your parents and school dean or principal. Here is a diet to try if you want to just look at it or try it.It was in a magazine.I put the web site in the sources for you.
Drop 10 pounds in 5 weeks
BREAKFAST

GETTING STARTED

Though Downer's plan for 1,330 to 1,510 calories per day is low in fat, cholesterol, simple sugars and salt, it's hardly a starvation diet. It's broken down into three major meals with three snacks daily. Six meals a day may seem like a lot, but studies have shown that eating several small meals a day protects against swings in blood glucose levels (which leads to out-of-control hunger), making it easier to stick to a diet.

Just be sure to vary your choices--don't eat the same foods every day.
