THIS MAKES ME SOOOO MAD!!! teachers at school dont let girls take care of their health...?

at school today i went home early because my butt was covered in blood. thanks to them.

i dont know what theyre thinking, not letting us get up in class or during lunch to use to use the restroom, and giving US grief because we got up to ASK them to use the restroom.

so low and behold my period decides to go SUPER HEAVY and i get blood all over myself. because the freakin teachers wouldnt let me get up.

how do i get so that i can get up during class/lunch and take care of my body?!

Sure a girl can always take advantage of bathroom breaks but that doesn't mean her period won't start suddenly during class! Or that she might have a sudden flow of blood soak through her clothes during class.

I would've given my needs priority in this case and walked out and taken care of myself. If the teacher complains then the teacher is wrong and I would involve my parents and speak to the principal of the school.

I'd definitely be having a chat with the principal and saying you HAVE to go to the bathroom whether they like it or not.

I would speak to the school principal or a school counsellor, if they're women. Tell them what happened. I'm sure they can sympathise, and if that doesn't work, maybe you can get your mother to contact the school.
This is ridiculous! It can't be ALL the teachers who have this "rule", right?

I have told my daughter to let me know if her teachers EVER refuse to let her go to the restroom. She knows not to abuse the privilege, but a young girl has to be able to go take care of herself for exactly the reason that happened to you.

Just know that something like that happens to most of us at one time or another. Talk to your parent or guardian and ask them to talk to your teachers to allow you to go to the restroom when you ask! If I were your mom, I'd be up at that school!

Good luck! :)

Speak to the school nurse. Ask your parents to speak to the principal and the
school board/district. You need a policy change there.

Sorry you got embarrassed that way! I found out that I had my period for the first time due to jumping on a trampoline in sixth grade with my classmates around waiting for their turns. No one had even told me there was such a thing. That's how it was in the '60's.

Thats awful tell your parents then go to a counselor or principal that you can talk to about it. You should be allowed to go for something like that.,..

That happened to me once. I had my period at school and the teacher wouldn't let me go to the bathroom.. so i got up and walked out.. when she yelled at me i yelled back "well i have my effin period and i need to sort myself out" and walked out.

I spoke to the principal about it the next day and she made the teacher apologise to me for the embarrassment.. i wasn't embarrassed i was PMSing lol

But i would speak to the Principal or school counsellor about it

call your parent or gardened in to have a chat with that teacher and your Principal.....if nothing changes call your local news team...what if next time some one get hurt!

Wow that is ridiculous. If it was me i would have just got up and went to the bathroom, who cares what they say. They cant keep you from going to bathroom.

demand it!! that's what i did when i was in h.s. or else i would just walk out if the teacher insisted on arguing why i needed to go to the bathroom.

I would most defiantly get your parents involved and go to the principal. I realize that some kids abuse the bathroom privilege but in the end legally their going to have to let you go to the bathroom. When you gotta go, you gotta go. And as to saying go between classes, some schools do not give enough time. My school had 6 floors and you had 4 minutes to get to your next class. Add in hundreds of other kids also trying to get to class. Try going to the bathroom and still make it to class on time. Not going to happen.

First off I would go straight to your mother. LET HER handle it. This not acceptable now matter where you are, school, work etc. You have every right to be upset and you have every right to speak up. Just do it in the proper manner and start by telling your Mother, then go to the Principle, then take it too the School Board.

i hate my skool when they do that it gets to the point now i ust walk out whether they say i can or not

Sue the A holes

This is abusive and somewhat discriminatory..and Tina T is a moron.

Get your parents involved ASAP and next time walk out after you have been told no. I can completely relate to the embarassment of heavy or unexpected periods.

I completely agree! Someone vandalized one of the toilets at school and now we have to ask at reception for them to unlock the door. Then they stand outside and lock it again as soon as you come out. I can understand taking measures to stop it. But all of this is RIDICULOUS!!!

Take matters to the teacher and be sure to get your parents involved, after this occurs the teachers should get together and discuss this exspecially if you are in a junior high and teachers are not really training or taught on how to deal with these girly issues. Maybe it will make some change on thier outlook.

You need to tell your parents what happened and why. They need to talk to the principal. If that doesn't help, have them go to the superintendent. I know how you feel I was made to wait for almost two hours during a bus ride on a Field trip. The bus in front pulled over to let someone pee but the teacher on my bus would not allow me to get off and pee. I was in tears and could barely walk when we finally did stop. Unfortunately the teacher got no punishment and my mother didn't believe that she did that and said I was exaggerating. I WAS NOT. It was embarrassing and humiliating because I was also ridiculed by the other kids. I will always take what I am told my my child as fact until it is otherwise proved.

Don't you have time between classes to deal with that? I have never heard of not being able to go the restroom during lunch; that's unacceptable, but you should be able to time it between classes. Class time is for teaching; sorry, but I was a teacher and heard all the excuses. You are going to have your period for a very long time...years and years to come...you're going to have to learn to be prepared...sorry.
