Schizophrenia ?

schizophrenia is a serious mental illness, those who suffers from this illness went through traumatic and depressing life. the problem is we can't tell the symptoms nor we can't cure it.

well they say if you hear voices in your head, see things that you are not supose to see( dead people) and belief that you have ability to read minds, if you have these symptoms you probally suffer this illness. but I don't know, too me all these symptom is just super natural.

If you're looking for feedback or corrections, I have a few. Hopefully this helps.

1) Those who suffer from the illness did not necessarily go through a traumatic and depressing life. *Having* the illness is traumatic and depressing, but those qualities in life do not cause schizophrenia.

2) Schizophrenics almost never believe that they can read minds. They sometimes believe that other people can read *their* minds.

3) If this is for school, clean up the grammar before turning in the assignment.

We know your thoughts, what is your question.

Is good description of schizophrenia?
You should pass the test.

and thats why its a mental condition.

people with schizophrenia do exhibit all of those. they hallucinate, and everything you stated are examples of haluncinations. most likely if you see someone talking to an imaginary friend and they are convinced that they exist, then they have it.

you are right, at the moment there is no real way to tell if someone is schizophrenic, but its genetic (probably) so if someone seems to have it, check to see if there is any record of it in the family.

hope this helps

well, it is a splitting of the mind, confused thoughts and in a way, it is supernatural..

If you want to know more about schizophrenia, from a person who was diagnosed with it over 40 years ago, look up some of my answers in my Q & A profile or e-mail me through Yahoo Answers. The experiences of the symptoms of schizophrenia paranoia do seem supernatural but that explanation does no set well with psychiatrists and the general public. As for me personally, I don't know, the symptoms were not explainable, they started suddenly and ended just as suddenly.

Good luck, good mental health, peace and love!

having various schizophrenic friends this is my theory of schizophrenia:
as a "normal" person you pass judgement on every piece of information, whether to accept or deny it. for instance a car comercial tells you that toyota is the number one car, deny... a politician says that this war is wrong , accept... etc. you accept or deny information based on the personality you have already developed and how you think that personality should be. for instance you could deny information simply because you are not interested. you do this without thinking. and i think one is mostly denying, to allow your brain the time and space to deal with the things you do accept. schizophrenics do not have this option. they cannot deny information straight away. they have to concider every piece of information, and much of it contradicts. for instance the news could tell you we are in an economic boom while you are experiencing financial hardship. and seeing it around you. this contradiction creates kind of a short circuit. the more contradiction the more problems someone has with their schizophrenia.
schizophrenia is a kind of super sensitivity to the world, and a need for things to make sense. i think if it is channeled right, schizophrenia might actually be postive and that schizophrenics actually do see the world more clearly than the rest of us.
